There has been lots of excitement around here. On Friday, 13 June, a small brush fire started very close to some of our sympatric sites. Thankfully the fire now seems to be under control, but it forced mandatory evacuations, burned down 3 buildings and forced the closure of numerous roads. All told just over 2,600 acres burned and 1,600 firefighters worked to contain the fire with around the clock shifts and 24-hour helicopter operations.
